Five Canadians sign for the Kings

Saad Bin Zafar, Kaleem Sana, Ali Nadeem, Aaron Johnson and Akhil Kumar form the Canadian core of the first Toronto Kings squad.

Toronto Kings have confirmed their first five signings for NCL GT20 Canada 2026, all Canadian internationals: Saad Bin Zafar, Kaleem Sana, Ali Nadeem, Aaron Johnson and Akhil Kumar.

The group covers the squad's spine: Zafar's left-arm spin and lower-order hitting, Sana's left-arm pace, Nadeem's leg-spin, Johnson in the top and middle order, and Kumar with the new ball.

"These are players who have carried Canada on the world stage," Head Coach Rayad Emrit said. "They know each other’s games and they know what Toronto expects."

Overseas and Associate signings followed in the weeks after. Each signed player now has a live card on the Squad page.
